The final instalment of my personal 100 Happy Days project:
Day 91: A group cuddle from these cheeky monsters when I surprised them by unexpectedly getting home early from London
Day 97: Mimi reading her bedtime story to me – so proud of how much she’s improved thanks to all her hard work
Day 98: Getting home late from a long, challenging and successful day of clients and catching sight of my new noticeboard in the kitchen #inspiring
In my original post I mentioned that I would be conducting a bit of an experiment within this photo project.
I told you about the research that I’m involved in, which (through a couple of short questionnaires) calibrates my clients levels of anxiety, depression and general sense of wellbeing from session to session. The results (gathered over a period of time) are to be used in order to provide solid evidence to the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) that Cognitive Hypnotherapy is effective at helping people to overcome these kinds of issues.
I decided to fill in the same questionnaires that I give to my clients on days 1, 25, 50, 75 and 100 of the project, to see what a difference taking these photos has made to my levels of happiness. I have been completely honest every single time I have filled in the questionnaires, and haven’t looked at my previous scores until I’ve answered the questions and got the new set of results. In theory, the anxiety and depression scores should reduce and the wellbeing score should increase.
On Day 1 of the project, my scores were as follows:
On Day 25 of the project, these were my results:
On Day 50 of the project:
On day 75, my scores were as follows:
And now, on the final day of the 100 Happy Days Project, these are my results:
Not bad considering I get married tomorrow and have spent the last two weeks finalising all the details for the day and making sure everyone and everything is ready, in between working flat out with clients & supervisees, and life-as-usual with the girls.
Truth be told, I’m more than a little sad that my project is over. I’ve been thinking for a while about what to do next, until a colleague of mine asked me why it had to stop after one hundred days. Realising that there was absolutely no reason why I had to limit myself, I’ve decided to extend it to a whole year of happy!
And so the 365 Days of Happy project will continue where this one has left off. Keep a look out for my next post in 10 days time, and thank you for following my journey so far 🙂
