Happy New Year and welcome to the first #365happydays project post of 2015!
In complete honesty, I always feel a little bit flat in New Year after our month of birthday, Christmas and New Year celebrations comes to a close and it’s time for the girls to go back to school and our normal routine to commence. Even so, there is still joy to be found in the little things.
Here are my happy moments from the first ten days of the year:
Day 302: New Years Day. Spent the afternoon taking down the Christmas decorations and getting ready for Lola’s birthday tomorrow whilst dancing to this – the girl’s current favourite CD!
Day 304: Ella’s best friend popped in to give her a little present – a souvenir from Disneyland Paris – and it made Ella’s day!
Day 305: Finding this – a list written by my littlest girl of all the people she loves: Dolores, Darcy, Gwen (her 3 best friends), Mummy, Lola (it fills my heart with joy when I see she’s put herself on the list), Mimi, Ella, Daddy and Sophie.
Day 306: Rediscovered my ‘Jar of Awesomeness’. I started it in January 2014 but by the end of February it had been forgotten about. This year I’m determined to commit to filling it with happy moments so we can open it on New Years Eve and remember how awesome 2015 was 🙂
Day 308: A rather spectacular sunrise on the way into London this morning. Not the easiest image to capture through the dirty window of a tilting train travelling at 125mph – this was the best shot I got!
Day 309: The sun has come out to play after a morning of rain, and I’ve bought myself some pretty tulips to remind myself that Spring isn’t too far away…
Day 310: Date night with my husband – out for dinner in a short skirt, super high heels and the biggest, fluffiest coat I own to keep me warm in the gale force winds battering the town!
Maybe you’d like to join me in the #365happydays project this year? You can start any time, and you can use you phone or your ‘big’ camera to record your moments of joy. I’d love to see what makes you happy, so please do share your images and/or blog links below, plus any comments you might like to leave.
Also, please feel free to share this post on social media to spread the word that moments of joy are everywhere, even in the midst of all the horribly devastating sadness that seems to be sweeping our world at the moment. You never know – you might inspire someone else to start their own #365happydays project.
