Gosh, it’s been a busy old start to the summer holidays!
We already seem to have packed in a lot of activities, and, as ever, the challenge so far has been to balance being busy with making sure everyone has enough downtime to recharge.
I guess I’m a bit out of practice with this, and haven’t quite got into the swing of being organised-and-structured and yet still able to switch off the alarm clock and be spontaneous-and-flexible.
As a result we have had our fair share of tantrums and arguments, but we’ve also had a lot of fun 🙂
Here’s what we got up to…
We did the Gruffalo Trail at Birches Valley (and bumped into some friends while we were there!):
We fed the ducks, went to see ‘The Gruffalo’ live on stage at Stafford Gatehouse Theatre and then ate the BEST ice cream in the world afterwards:
We made the most of the gorgeously hot sunshine by playing in the paddling pool on three consecutive days AND we had a watergun fight:
We baked some banana and honey muffins:
We spent a fun morning at The Wolseley Centre, exploring art and nature:
We’ve got lots of fun stuff planned for next week – I’m looking forward to it already.
I’d love to hear what you have been up to this first week of the six-week-holidays. You never know, you might inspire someone to try something new, or explore somewhere they haven’t been to before. So please do share your thoughts, ideas and experiences in the comment box below. Thanks 🙂
