I am part of a research team which has been put together by The Quest Institute. I am currently involved in a research project which is aiming to evaluate the effectiveness of Cognitive Hypnotherapy at reducing levels of anxiety and depression in our clients, and increasing their overall sense of wellbeing.
In order to conduct this research, Quest has teamed up with the Pragmatic Research Network (part of the Human Givens Institute), whose expertise in this area has given us a really solid foundation from which to work from.
The research we are undertaking is voluntary – it is up to you whether you want to take part. All personal information and data collected is kept strictly confidential, and once your results have been inputted onto our secure database it remains anonymous.
If you choose to take part in our research, all it will involve is filling out a few questionnaires at the start of each therapy session, which takes a maximum of 5 minutes. Separate research has shown that people who take part in this sort of evaluation system actually reach their solution state more quickly (ie: they get better faster). This could be because they are more actively engaged and involved in their therapy (by filling in the questionnaires each session), which is one of the keys to achieving a successful outcome. It may also be that they are able to see their scores improving session by session, which encourages and reinforces to them that they are making progress. So it’s win-win really isn’t it?
If we do begin working together and you are happy to take part in the research project I will give you more information regarding the processes involved. I am also more than happy to answer any questions you may have in the meantime, so please feel free to contact me via email at: chloe@openmindhypnotherapy.co.uk or by telephone on 07794 595783.
