Today is ‘Blue Monday’ – supposedly the most depressing day of the year. So, how are you feeling? Personally, I feel great – I’ve had a super-productive morning so far, the sun is shining and I’ve got a busy week full of things I love ahead of me.
‘Blue Monday’ was actually invented by someone in marketing, as a way of encouraging people to buy the company’s products. I have no idea how many people actually bought whatever it was he was trying to sell, but the concept of ‘Blue Monday’ has stuck, and many people find that just seeing the words on their Facebook or Twitter newsfeed, or reading about it in the paper, or watching reports on the news can ‘make’ them feel down.
So, if you are feeling a bit down, whether that’s because it’s ‘Blue Monday’, or because it’s just Monday in general, or perhaps because you’re struggling with some aspect of your life at the moment, here is a rather lovely infographic that might give you a few tips on how to make yourself feel better.
Why not give one or two of them a try today? You might be surprised at how quickly you might start to find yourself beginning to feel more positive.
I’d love to hear from you if you have a go at any of these, so do get in touch with your experiences.
As for me, I’m taking full advantage of the ‘exercise’ tip and going for a walk in the sunshine (running a few errands along the way).
Happy Monday everyone 🙂
