I know I say it with every single one of my #projecthappy posts, but I’m going to say it again anyway – the time has flown by! Despite the weather being, erm…. mixed (come on summer, where are you?!), we’ve managed to make the most of the good days and have spent the rainy days quietly at home. I think it’s been a good balance of busy days full of activities and chilled out days of not doing very much at all.
Despite having had some very dark days in the middle of this set of photos, I’ve still been able to notice plenty of joyful moments. Sometimes it’s been an effort, but the increased connection with my family over the holidays is definitely making a difference to how quickly I can pull myself out of the depths of the darkness.
Here’s what we’ve been up to:
Day 521: I always prefer to give ‘experiences’ rather than ‘things’ for birthday gifts. Last year I gave my husband a Supercar Driving experience. We finally got round to booking it and he loved every second of it 🙂
Day 522: Today we attended the christening and catching up with our friends after the ceremony was a really lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon
Day 523: This one absolutely loves to sing and can often be found standing in front of the mirror in my bedroom watching herself as she belts out made-up songs at top volume. But the second she realises she’s being watched, she stops. Today I watched her secretly through the kitchen window as she stood at the top of the slide in the garden singing her heart out. After a little persuasion she allowed me to capture a couple of shots, and for that I am very grateful.
Day 524: The evening light in my kitchen is pretty magical. I enjoyed experimenting with light and shadow for a few minutes while the girls were otherwise occupied
Day 525: Autumn leaves on the ground in London this morning. Considering we haven’t really even had a summer yet it does seem a tiny bit unfair that Autumn is already on it’s way. And yet, a teeny tiny part of me is secretly quite looking forward to it – it’s my favourite season 🙂
Day 527: We went to see ‘Inside Out’ at the cinema today (absolutely fantastic film!) and then played in the garden in the afternoon
Day 529: All five of us have been looking forward to today for months – we visited the Harry Potter Studio Tour. It more than exceeded our expectations and we had a wonderful family day making memories together
Day 530: This one spent her pocket money on some ‘Harry Potter’ glasses in the shop yesterday and hasn’t taken them off since!
