Some of you will have heard of the latest ‘craze’ that the nation seems to be obsessing about – necknominations. For those not in the know, it’s kind of like a dare, a challenge. If you get nominated, you have to drink a lethal concoction of alcoholic drinks – usually a potent mix of vodka, wine and lager. At the very least, you’ll vomit pretty spectacularly (and violently). Worst case scenario? You could die. Several people have already lost their lives as a result of taking part in necknominations – their bodies just couldn’t cope with the toxic overload and/or they tried to perform dangerous stunts whilst under the influence of huge amounts of alcohol.
One guy, Adam Davidson, chose not to follow the crowd. Instead he decided to put his necknomination to better use. He took the money he would have spent on buying the drinks necessary for the nomination, and instead used it to buy a sandwich, a bag of crisps, a chocolate bar and a drink. Not for himself though – for a homeless man. Adam filmed the whole thing and it’s now viral on Facebook – the video has been shared over 42,000 times.
If you’re interested in watching it (it’s only 1 and a half minutes of your time), you can see it on my Facebook page:

In the comments left for Adam, one woman suggested the idea of RAKnominations instead – nominating people to do a random act of kindness.
I think it’s a fantastic, inspirational idea.
So here is your RAKnomination. If you are reading this blog post, your mission (if you choose to accept it) is to go out and do a random act of kindness for someone.
Today.
Right now, if you can.
I’d love to hear from those of you who have taken up the challenge, as well as those of you who have been on the receiving end of a random act of kindness. Leave your experiences below as a comment – let’s see how many people we can inspire!
