Something I’ve discovered through working with clients and as a result of all the things I’ve worked through myself, is that the thing that most often holds us back is fear.
Fear of what might happen.
Fear of what might not happen.
Fear of what other people might think.
Fear of what we might end up thinking of ourselves.
Fear of the consequences if it all goes wrong.
Fear of the consequences if it all goes right.
Fear of who we could end up being.
No, it’s far safer and much less scary to stay where we are and remain unhappy and uncomfortable (because at least we know what that feels like) than to take the risk of everything working out exactly how we want it to and possibly achieving the happiness and being ok with who we are that we’re striving for.
But what if you weren’t afraid?
What if that fear wasn’t there?
What if the fear that was holding you back disappeared and you went out and did the thing that you wanted to do?
Think about it.
Just for a moment, imagine all the possibilities that are out there waiting for you. Infinite possibilities.
So here’s a question for you:
What would you do if you weren’t afraid?
