This #projecthappy post covers the final part of the summer holidays, and we headed off to Cornwall for the only holiday we’re having this year. We’ve all been in desperate need of a break, a change of scenery, time to relax and the chance to spend some quality time together as a family. We’d been looking forward to it for a whole year and, despite the chilly weather, we absolutely made the most of every opportunity we got to make memories…
Day 541: Sometimes the only way to break up a bit of boredom while Mummy tries to pack the suitcases is to make silly faces…
Day 542: A pre-6am departure, a gorgeous sunrise and the easiest ever journey meant that we arrived in Cornwall at 10am! We headed straight for the beach and explored the rockpools, finding a huge crab with three babies
Day 543: Torrential rain today, so we headed for the bowling alley. I love this photo of everyone celebrating 🙂
Day 544: Bank Holiday Monday = Lifeboat Day in Bude, so after a chilly morning watching the Air Search and Rescue Helicopter demonstration, we played crazy golf in the afternoon sunshine (and Mimi got a hole-in-one!)
Day 545: A day trip to beautiful Boscastle today. We hiked to Pentargon Waterfall, stood on the “edge of the world”, ate yummy ice cream and explored the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic
Day 546: Today we went for a long walk along Bude Canal with my Mum, stepdad and aunt, then the five of us went out for dinner together as a family. This might just be my favourite shot ever of my tribe 🙂
Day 547: The girls (and Neil) have been desperate for a day on the beach (I’m not a fan) so we’ve been watching the weather hoping for a lovely warm sunny day. We didn’t get one, so we went anyway and built sandcastles and played cricket (and the girls dipped their toes in the sea). It was worth being freezing cold to see the joy in their faces 🙂
Day 548: Our last full day on holiday, so we made the most of it by exploring over the Breakwater to the Crows Nest, then scrambled up the hill to the Pepper Pot Lookout for gorgeous views over Bude’s beaches
Day 549: Another super-early start to beat the traffic on the way home today, so after arriving home at 10am and launching into the flurry of unpacking, replenishing food supplies and catching up on laundry, an afternoon of quiet activites was called for. Lola has been begging me to do some painting for weeks and was so thrilled when I finally said yes
Day 550: Our last day together as a family before we’re all back to work and school. I snuck this shot of my husband playing cards with the girls 🙂
