The second and third weeks of the summer holidays have continued to speed by, and I’m loving spending quality time with my girls. Some days we are busy and other days we take things more slowly, and both are equally good.
Here are my most recent ten days of happy moments:
Day 511: A rare afternoon off in London, so I headed for the Travel Photographer of the Year exhibition. No clients, no children, nowhere to rush off to. Just me, free to explore.
Day 512: I popped to Tesco at 7am and left one husband and three girls sleeping. When I returned half an hour later, I found Ella reading a story to her younger sisters (while my husband was still fast asleep upstairs!)
Day 513: A morning visit to the Wolseley Wildlife Centre – not much beats exploring nature 🙂
Day 514: We made milkshakes!
Day 515: A family adventure to The Ice Cream Farm – playing crazy golf, eating ice creams and accidentally visiting Wales!
Day 516: Despite my continual pleas for the girls to use kind words and gentle voices, bickering and arguments do still occur on a daily basis. My littlest one (age 5) wrote this note to her eldest sister (age 8) , completely independently and unprompted by me, to say sorry for being mean.
Day 517: My littlest has lost her first two baby teeth one day after the other! She’s super excited, I just want time to slow down a bitt…
Day 518: 5.45am. Sunrise on my way to the station to catch the train to London
Day 519: A slow day. We baked two different batches of cookies – double chocolate chip and oat & honey. Verdict? Yum.
Day 520: I asked the girls what they wanted to do today and the unanimous vote was to go to the park, so that’s exactly what we did 🙂
