Another ten days gone and we are edging ever closer to the end of the summer holidays, which I feel more than a little bit sad about. Although it’s always a challenge, I really do cherish the extra time with the girls (and my husband when he’s not at work).
The thing about #projecthappy is that it’s really making me aware of how many days could slip by in a haze of nothingness. And while I don’t think every single day has to be special or extraordinary in terms of doing something spectacular, I’m realising more and more how it’s the ordinary moments, the little things, that can make a day extraordinary if you just tune in to them.
We’ve done a lot of fun stuff over the holidays, and have been lucky enough to be able to have a few day trips here and there to places that we wouldn’t normally go to, but many of our days have been spent at home doing not very much. And there has still always been something extraordinary about those days, whether it’s a beautiful sunset or a tickle fight with the girls.
Noticing the extraordinary in the ordinary is definitely the key to #projecthappy, and it keeps me going on a daily basis.
